Consolidate Student Loans and Shop Online

Monday, December 31st, 2007

By Nick Smith If you run a home business, you know that budgets can be pretty tight. Saving money wherever possible can be the difference between the business that succeeds and the one that fails. This article represents a broad survey of things you can do, from consolidating your student loans to getting small business deals on supplies, that will help you spend less each month. Next Time Youre Online, Buy Something Billions of dollars are spent each year online. Rather than suggest that you hurry and move your business online, Id like to suggest that you add some of your dollars and cents to those billions already spent. Companies who move operations online reduce their overhead costs and often pass on those savings to you. Computers, airplane tickets, even student loan consolidation, can be purchased or arranged online. It has been my experience that I can find almost everything I want online for less than I can find it anywhere else. Next time youre thinking about biting the bullet and making that big purchase, spend a little time shopping around online and see if you cant save a few dollars. Consolidate Student Loans and Get Your House in Order Chances are good that youve been out of school for a while, but dont skip this paragraph. If you consolidate student loans or other financial obligations, you will typically save a great deal of money each month on your monthly payments. Running a home business often blurs the line between personal expenses and business operating costs do yourself a favor and make sure you have your personal financial affairs taken care of before you find yourself overwhelmed with past obligations. The government might not have cared about your credit score when they gave you those student loans, but banks looking to give business loans are a whole different story. Making sure everything is taken care will keep financial doors open that, once theyre closed, are very difficult to reopen. Score One for the Little Guy Believe it not, most people want small businesses to succeed. There are a lot of people willing to give you a break on prices because you own a home business, but you might need to ask about it. Office supply retailers and computer distributors sometimes offer discount prices to registered small business owners. The savings are not always monumental, but even the smallest savings multiplied over a year or two start to add up to pretty substantial amounts. Shop around to see if the suppliers you use are willing to offer you a discount on supplies or equipment. Do WithoutFor a While Im probably not the only person that drove a car that was older than I was during college, or who ate Ramen noodles more than once almost everyday. Dont forget the lessons you learned while you were a poor college student the same ability to make do with what you have can save you a lot of money in the long run. I had just graduated from college and I wanted to get a new computer to replace the older, though fully functional one I was using. This was before I took my own advice to consolidate student loans, so money was still pretty tight. I wanted to kick myself when I saw that the price on the computer I bought dropped $300 in three months. Some expenses are necessary and unavoidable. For everything else, look to see if you can manage with what you have for a while longer. Dont Do It Alone Nobody likes data entry its time consuming, boring, and time consuming. If you find yourself spending too much of your day punching numbers into spreadsheets, consider hiring someone or outsourcing it to another company. If you think that you cant afford the part-time salary, do an inventory of your time and see if what you would pay someone is worth the amount of time youll be able to invest into the meatier matters of your business. I know Im risking sounding like your father giving you a lecture about money, but remember that a penny saved is a penny earned. A successful business minimizes costs while maximizing profits. Death Penalty: For or Against?

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

By Daniel Hunt Every evening when we sit back on our sofas and relax, we watch TV. In the evening action is on mostly. Daily we see how someone is murdered, but we find it exciting and watch such films with pleasure. What could the consequences be if some of these episodes could be taken into the real life? A verdict can be very strict, the most cruel verdict at all. Murderers are charged death penalty. But nowadays we have a conflict on this basis. Should one be condemned to death or just get a life sentence and thats it? Those who stand for death penalty always use the famous Bible quotation An eye for an eye. They also refer to the Bible when they say that someone breaks one of the Ten Commitments which is Dont kill, and the punishment is death. Revenge is a powerful motivator to take actions. Those whose relative was killed want the criminal to suffer as much as their beloved has suffered. Death penalty was widely used in the past and for different purposes. For example your head could be cut of for stealing the cattle in Frankish Empire, you could be tortured and killed for betrayal in Old England, and you could be fed to the dogs for killing a lord in Old Germany and so on. The examples can be numerous. But the question is: do we possess the authority of God to take somebodys life even if he/she took somebody elses? Are we to judge other people? This can be a good topic for a custom term paper if to go deeper into the problem. God tells to forgive, this is also one of the Ten Commandments and we are not to break it. Nowadays a saying An eye for an eye is a bit old-fashioned. You will not kill a cat because he accidentally scratched you. We live in a democratic, free state where everybody is equal before the law and have to behave as such. In Europe there is no country left where death penalty still exists. It is rather hard to believe, for Europe was eager to execute everybody who went against the law. The ways to punish became milder, easier, and faster. Then, step by step, death penalty was canceled because of victory of humanism over revenge. What is worse: death penalty or life sentence? A lot of students perform a term paper order on this topic. This idea can bring a good grade to the owner if closely researched. Of course life is the main value and there is nothing more valuable, but what is life, spent in for walls with those who were originated in the gutter of society, thinking about what a fool you were to do such a fatal mistake. But people who deserve to die have to be kept in very severe conditions. Unfortunately, our society can create real monsters that will not consider killing somebody an awful sin and crime. But no matter how guilty a person is, humans have no right to kill others to revenge; we have no right to do so. We are not to judge, this is Gods authority to decide. And who knows, maybe killers are suffering more when they are locked in four walls than when they peacefully pass away to the other world. Daniel Hunt has been working as a leading editor at SuperiorPapers.com - Custom Research Paper writing service for more than two years. You can order term paper and see for yourself. His research in Linguistics makes a great contribution to the science. You can see his advice on how to write a proper custom term paper in various guides on how to write. Beauty Care - Antiperspirants

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

By CD Mohatta Perspiration and body odor have been of concern for many of us who wish to present a beautiful body to others. Here it is important to note that deodorants and antiperspirants are not the same. Deodorants hide the smell with fragrance. They don’t dry the perspiration at all. They also don’t prepare the skin for not perspiring. Deodorants will not keep you dry. They will make you feel good with their fragrance and hide body odor. For keeping yourself dry you have to use antiperspirants. An antiperspirant blocks the sweat ducts and does not allow the sweat from reaching the skin surface. Aluminum chloride has been a choice ingredient in antiperspirants. Many new aluminum compounds are now being used as active ingredients in antiperspirants and the newest is Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex Glycine. The ideal antiperspirant should be water soluble, free of any fragrance and contain ingredients that are not normally allergy forming. As the areas where antiperspirants are usually y applied such as underarm, is moist and warm, with skin layers upon layers and having thin epidermis, the ideal antiperspirant should be highly non irritating for most of the users. it should also not leave any deposit after drying. If you have any allergy to fragrances, dyes, contact, please use antiperspirants with care. Diabetics should use these products after consulting their doctor. If you have sensitive skin or have tendency for eczema, please consult your doctor before using antiperspirants. This article is only for informative purposes. Now We’ve Done It - Texas Fights The Overuse of Antibiotics

Friday, December 28th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Patt_Carpenter] Patt Carpenter Most of us have done it: at some point, we caught a bad cold or flu and, feeling miserable, dragged (or, if you prefer, drug) our shaking bodies into the doctor’s office to beg for a prescription, believing a few pills will somehow make it all better. “Come on, Doc,” we said, “Give me something. I’m under a deadline, here. My health insurance will cover it.” Unfortunately this attitude, and many physicians’ willingness to prescribe antibiotics when they are unnecessary — at times even when they have absolutely no effect on the illness creating the problem — has lead to a serious problem in creating drug-resistant bacterial strains in Texas and the rest of the United States. Knowing most health insurance policies with prescription coverage will pay for a simple antibiotic makes the temptation all that much harder to resist. Dr, Richard Besser, of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, describes it as “the whole culture of overprescribing.” Approximately 150 million unnecessary prescriptions are written every year — 50 million of which are for viral infections, diseases completely unaffected by antibiotic medication. That means residents of Dallas, Houston, and Austin are just as guilty as the rest. Simply having an infection doesn’t warrant antibiotics; it’s the kind of infection that determines whether such treatment is necessary and useful. Antibiotics are, indeed, a miracle drug, first created in the 1940s with the advent of penicillin, and absolutely life-saving for certain conditions. The key is understanding when antibiotics are appropriate, and when they are not. Antibiotics fight bacteria, not viruses. Viruses and bacteria are two completely different kinds of organisms, and require different elements to survive, and therefore different methods for combating them. Bacteria are much simpler, and actually much easier to fight — as long as they are not drug resistant. Strep throat, urinary tract infections, wound and skin infections, most ear infections, and some sinus infections are caused by bacteria. The common cold, the common flu, most sore throats, and most coughs, however, are not. They are viral, and Western medicine does not currently have a medication that effectively fights common viruses. The problem comes after six decades of antibiotic use and overuse. Bacteria multiply in the millions, and, like any organism, learn to adapt to what seeks to harm them. Because their individual life cycles are relatively short, and because of this rate of reproduction, their ability to adapt is much faster than our own. When an antibiotic is taken as prescribed and fails to kill all bacteria in an infection, it usually means those survivors have learned to resist that drug. They can then pass on that information to other bacteria in the body, making them resistant as well. When, consequently, a stronger drug is tried to fight the same infection and, it too, proves ineffective, the creation of a “superbug” begins — a dangerous strain resistant to most, or all known, medications. The longer it takes to kill the infection, the longer such a superbug can be transmitted to others Just think of the consequences of the rapid transmission of a superbug in cities like Dallas, Houston, or Austin. One of the best, and most disturbing examples of this phenomenon is pneumococcus, which is a bacterial strain that causes pneumonia, ear infections, and sinusitis. Its resistance has been increasing in recent years, and, because it causes infections that are so common, a pneumococcus strain completely resistant to all known drugs would prove absolutely pandemic. Even vancomycin (Vancocin), an extremely potent antibiotic pulled out only when all other medications have proven ineffective, has met its bacterial match. The use of antibiotics previously prescribed only for high-risk situations, such as with cancer or organ transplant patients, is also on the rise due to the necessity of replacing older, weaker drugs with stronger ones. Soon, even vancomycin will fall down in the hierarchy of drugs to try when nothing else works. Unnecessary antibiotic use may do more immediate harm than good, as well. Certain bacteria are good for you, believe it or not, and are necessary for various normal body functions. The digestive system, for instance, depends upon a healthy count of beneficial bacteria to do its job. Acidophilus and other probiotics keep the digestive system on track, but antibiotics are indiscriminate and will attempt to kill all bacteria in the body — good or bad. These beneficial strains, then, need to be replenished — either by the body or through supplements — after a course of antibiotics, as an insufficient number may lead to irregularities and other types of infections, such as yeast. But there is hope. The primary reason resistant strains have been created in Texas and across the United States is the overuse, and misuse of antibiotics. If we, as a public, can slow our usage of them, and use medications only when absolutely necessary, this problem can be considerably slowed. Our conscious efforts, in fact, may prevent future antibiotic-resistant pandemics. What You Can Do: It can’t be said enough: Use all medications, particularly antibiotics, only when absolutely necessary. If you feel ill, of course, seek the advice of a medical practitioner, and find out for sure with what you are dealing. Don’t beg for an antibiotic, however, when it’s not necessary. Viruses are not affected by bacteria, so find alternatives to deal with that cold or flu! Zinc, for instance, has proven to reduce the duration of the common cold and flu by up to four days. Other natural methods are also extremely helpful in shortening the duration of illnesses and combating their symptoms. Always take the full course of antibiotics prescribed, even if you start feeling better. You can start feeling much better well before all the dangerous bacteria in your system have been killed. Stopping a course of antibiotic treatment before it’s been completed only creates prime opportunities for the infectious bacteria left to become resistant. Never take antibiotics without a prescription. There are many types of antibiotics used to fight many strains of bacteria, all of which work in a slightly different way. You need to make sure you are getting the right prescription, taking the correct dose, and taking it as long, but not longer, than you should. Keep healthy! By revving up your immune system to its maximum capabilities, you’ll need antibiotics less. Wash your hands, exercise, eat right, and take vitamins if you feel them beneficial. After all, who wants to be sick? The tendency for most Americans to search for that “magic bullet” is, perhaps, a natural one. After all, so many resources are so readily available to most of us in this country — why shouldn’t one for getting over the cold or flu be, too? But, unfortunately, some things just don’t come that easily, and the overuse, and misuse, of antibiotics has created a major problem. Superbugs are very real, and if we don’t all do our part in controlling them, there soon could be even bigger problems. So stay healthy, take care of yourself, and for your own sake, do what you’re told — at least this time. How you take care of your body, and what conditions you effectively treat, will certainly affect your health as you age, and eventually your wallet. Wedding Labels Made Easy

Friday, December 28th, 2007

By Chris Ryerson Are you in the process of planning a wedding? The chances are you probably feel overwhelmed with all of the things that have to get done. Take a short break and read this article on wedding labels and then spend an hour of your time tops and you can add a classy unique touch to your wedding. It is something that can be done very quickly and easily yet it will make your wedding look like you had a top professional wedding planner working for you! What is the secret thing that can be done so easily you might ask? Making wedding labels for the wedding favors, thank you cards, and even name tags for the reception. These can all be done very easily within one hour or all together in a quick afternoon. Yet the extra thoughtful addition will add that spark of special and touch of class to the whole event. Yes, wedding labels is a large category and it can include labels for thank you cards, wedding favors, place cards for seating, and even little touches like additions to a wine glass or disposable camera. By adding these little extra labels throughout the event you can easily pull the theme of the wedding into everything that you do. The easiest way to get started is to think about your theme. Do you already have a theme for the wedding chosen? If not that is okay making the labels will help cement the theme in your head. Simply go online and type in terms like wedding labels or free wedding clip art and search around. Take 15 to 20 minutes to find something that you really like. This is a very individual process and each person has their own idea that they are looking for. You might be looking for something more in the realm or cute, or craft looking like some type of stamp art or you might want something very formal and in gold and silver. Keep in mind that traditional and cultural themes can also be brought into your search terms easily to include this in the clipart that you are looking for. Typically if doing this for a client it is easiest to use the theme of their wedding and type that in. Then try to spot a suitable background for the label. Keep your eye out for things other then labels. You do not just want a preformatted already made label that someone else has done. Rather gather ideas from the pre made labels available online and then find you own unique design and background. With clients it is easiest to use their theme as a search term and the term wedding label. Then try and look for things that are not labels but nonetheless have an artistic flare or beauty to them. Usually most people will spot something almost instantly that they like. Often from experience it is not a label that is already made but a background that can easily be made into a label. After selecting a suitable background it is important to find a font that ties in with the theme and the background. You most likely will want a little contrast in this area to make the font legible and easily viewed. So if the background is very dark and busy a white font that is simple will look better. Another trick if the font is not legible enough is to dull the background or to change the contrast down a little bit. This will sort of gray out the background and allow the writing to pop out more. Once you have selected the background, a suitable font it is time to get started. You will want to reuse the same fonts and background over and over again to really pull the theme together and to ensure you r labels do not look like a bunch of random pieces put together at the last minute. Typically it is easiest to start with the wedding favor label or a name tag. Start off with a big graphic as it will allow you to add more detail and then later you can always size the image down to fit the type of label you are printing on. Now work on the first label. Lay the background out in an interesting way. Remember the background does not have to just simply cover up the whole background of the label. You can break things up a bit by adding a colored boarder around the background image. You can also change the shape of the background image so it does not simply fit the label perfectly. Then put in your writing. This depends on the label you are making but could be anything from the person’s name for nametag or the bride and groom’s name and date they were married for a wedding favor. This really depends on the type of label that is being made. Once you have your first set of labels done go ahead and work on labels for something else. This should be easy as you have done all of the research and spent time collecting your working graphics and text. Do not simply take the label you have already created and try to squeeze it into the new label that you want. In other words do not take a name tag label and then try to stretch or reduce the size of it to fit into a heart shaped tin for the wedding favor. Instead start with a new wedding label from scratch. Then add in the exact same background, clipart and fonts as you did for the last label. However you now have the flexibility of change any of these items to the desired shape. Whereas if you have used a previously label it often has to be stretched and reduced to fit the size for the new label and this can make it irregular nad print very funny and stretched. The key with wedding labels is to first identify the theme of the party. Second spend some time online looking for suitable graphics and fonts. Then simply assemble them together. This is best done if at all possbile far before hand. These labels will not spoil or go bad so they can be done as soon as you have a wedding date and theme chosen. So get started early and save yourself the stress later on. Also have some friends come over and have a label making party! They can help attach the labels as needs and etc. Sam Smith is the owner of Plan Best Wedding PlanBestWedding.com. Don’t Quit Your Day Job! Convincing Your Boss To Let You Telecommute (Part 2 of 2)

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

By Sharon Davis Ok, so youve determined that you have the right skills and qualities todo your job effectively from home. Youre sure that your job is wellsuited to telecommuting. Now you just need your boss to agree that thisis a great idea, but how? The best approach is to make a proposal. A proposal is a very effectiveway to sell the idea to your employer because it can be used tohighlight the benefits, and presents your request in an organized, professional manner. A well-written proposal can also show that you canwork well on your own (a very important point, since you will be largelyunsupervised). The first thing you need to think about is how it will benefit youremployer. Its natural for any human being to want to know whats in itfor them. Make a list of the benefits of allowing telecommuting suchas: Can cut costs for office space, equipment, parking, etc. Can be a valuable employee recruitment tool Increases productivity by 10–30%, according to the State of CaliforniaTelecommuting Pilot ProgramAdditional savings of productive time are realized as a reduction in theuse of company paid time to meet personal or family needs. Notsurprisingly, telecommuters report that they are less likely to take asick day in order to be home for deliveries or repairs, or to takechildren to important appointments. May allow work to be done when inclement weather might otherwiseinterfereEnhances employee morale Your employer will also be able to enjoy the benefits that telecommutingcan have on the community:Less trafficLess pollutionIncreased highway safety Next, think about what concerns your employer might have and addressthem in your proposal. Would your employer have to invest in additional equipment for a homeoffice, or do you have the appropriate tools already? How will your supervisor monitor your productivity? When will you telecommute? How frequently will you check in?Would there be a trial period? If you interact directly with clients, how will they feel about this?Would you object to your supervisor visiting your home officeperiodically? Once youve done compiled this information, youre ready to startputting together your proposal. Your proposal should have the following structure: 1. Cover Sheet- This will have the date, your name and title, yourcompany name and your supervisors name and title. You can name yourproposal something like “Telecommute Proposal” or “Flexible WorkProposal”. 2. Introduction- Here you will outline what your proposal is about. Tell what your goal is and how it would benefit the company. Keep itshort and professional. 3. Benefits- This is where your list of benefits goes. 4. Scheduling- Youll want to start off telecommuting 1-2 days a week. 5. Implementation- Explain what is needed, i.e. equipment, phone line, etc. Here you will address the concerns you feel your employer may haveby offering solutions in the proposal. Come up with ideas on how yourboss can monitor your performance, how you will communicate with clients and co-worker, and what tasks you will be doingfrom home. 6. Trial Period- Give your proposed duration for a trial period. 60-90 days is a good length of time to determine effectiveness. 7. Review Criteria- Agree that at the end of the trial period you andyour supervisor will review your performance and determine whether ornot you can continue telecommuting. 8. References- You can include articles, urls and any other materialsthat you used to do your research. This way, your supervisor can lookat them also and get more information on the benefits of telecommuting. Once you have written your proposal, be sure to spell check for errors. You may want to have someone else read it and give you feedback. Depending on your company structure, you may want to make severalcopies; one for you, your supervisor, their supervisor, the HumanResources Manager and anyone else you feel would be appropriate. Remember, the more thorough and professional your proposal is, thefurther it will go in convincing your boss that you have the skills, themotivation, and the work ethic to telecommute. Dating and Christians

Tuesday, December 25th, 2007

By Earl Gosnell A Christian has a Bible as a guidebook to his love life. Nonchristiansare not expected to be following it, so you’ll have to make with themwhatever arrangements work for you. Expect them, however, to respectyour limit to hold off on having sex with you until marriage. The King James Version of 1611 was made when marriage was more biblical, although by the same token more old fashioned. Our new and improvedEnglish versions were made by translators of our own times and so perhaps less biblical. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. I use the KJV. Starting in Genesis, Adam was interested in the woman God had madefor him; he saw where she came from and what she was for. Thereforea man should leave father and mother to cleave to his woman, and thetwain shall become one flesh. The leaving and cleaving is what wecall going out, spending some time together as a couple. Becomingone flesh is biblical terminology for marriage, what happens there. As Christians we’re obligated by Romans 14 to avoid “doubtful disputations” but get along with other Christians who behave differently. If, say, we have a stronger faith that allows us to do things whicha weaker brother’s conscience would not permit, we are to happily have our own faith quietly to ourselves, not putting a stumbling block in the weaker brother’s way. The weaker brother on his part is not to go out of his way to find something to judge the stronger brother for. First Corinthians 7 instructs that single brothers and sisters bepermitted to marry. There is necessarily a courtship stage beforemarriage, so it’s expected there will be various courtship customsdevelop. Suppose Christians of various levels of faith accept feweror more of these customs depending on their faith. Furthermore, supposethat it doesn’t divide out even between the sexes; say that some men will take the high end and some women the low. Won’t we have to either violate Romans 14 by forcing a weaker sister to violate her conscience or a stronger brother to cancel his liberty, or else prevent the possibility of marriage altogether as their practices are incompatible with each other? In the Benjamite War at the end of Judges, the tribes had a doubtfuldisputation where the majority sinned “because we reserved not toeach man his wife in the war” (Judges 21:22). They had made ruleswhereby the men of Benjamin could not obtain wives. Their answer was, first, there were some villages that didn’t participate in the conflict;they could at least be flexible enough to accommodate the men. Second, what wives were still needed, the men could pick up at dances wheretheir liberty would be respected. Applied to a modern church age, if you find yourself at odds witha church over courtship practices, then go find a church(es) thatcan accommodate your beliefs and there meet the ones to pursue. Ifyou need more action, then meet someone at a dance where the weakerbrethren are not to go out of their way to judge you. Dating proper was invented in the book of Esther where a king meta wide range of available maidens, the ones he particularly liked,he called up for dates (ch. 2:14b), and the one he loved most(Esther), he made queen. Esther herself used this invention to negotiatewith the king to get her request, she made a lunch date with him. We see here the purpose of prearrangement which enabled God to advisethe king in a dream going along with the first commandment to loveGod first of all. We see a couple as opposed to a group, shown byHaman trying to bond one-on-one with Esther at the banquet, goingalong with the second commandment to love one’s neighbor as oneself. The physical bonding–touching, holding–allows the sexes to bondwith each other In Ruth the indirect negotiation for her hand in marriage wasmade at a specific place set up for major transactions: at the citygate in the presence of the elders. In our society such a place setup for these necessary negotiations is a,elders + gate = date. This follows from the lesson of First Corinthians 7. While a Christian’smarriage to an unbeliever is contingent on the unbeliever’s willingnessto stay in it, a Christian’s marriage to another Christian is to bebinding unto death. In order to prove our own and the other’s abilityto commit, we need a device that allows us to enter, modify and exitcommitments. The date serves this purpose. One enters commitmentson a date, and modifies or withdraws from them on other dates. Thatgives us liberty and a proving ground. If there were no placefor this to be done–a date–, then how can one tell when he or theother is ending a commitment or just violating it? In (Prov. 18:24) “A man that hath friends must show himself friendly:and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” Thereis such a thing as a girlfriend, a non-platonic friend. As friendshiprequires effort, one’s friends end up in a pyramid scheme, the bestones in the narrow group at top. If you try to date only your bestfriends, you risk ruining the valuable friendship without increasingyour dating pool very much. If you follow the scheme of Esther, you’llbe dating from the larger pool of acquaintances. In the Song of Solomon we see a mother’s influence on her daughter ondates, and that she is not despised for kissing her beau. These are the lessons from the Old Testament. The New Testament isa bit easier to follow and apply. Copyright 2006, Earl S.Gosnell III This article was written by Earl Gosnell, an ordained minister ofthe United Congregation of Friends. Fall Blooming Wildflower - Aster curtisii

Monday, December 24th, 2007

By Paul Wonning Aster curtisii Family - Astereae This fall blooming wildflower is found in the high mountainous areas of Tennessee, North Carolina and Georgia. Primarily a woodland wildflower, it blooms during September and October. The violet blue flowers are about one inch in diameter and fade to magenta as the season progresses. Like most asters, the plant height can be variable, from two to five feet in height. The leaves are dagger shaped, larger at the base of the plant. The stem leaves taper to petioles, or stems. Most other asters taper and clasp to the stem of the plant, with no leaf stem. The aster family is quite large, with many species closely resembling each other. The serious wildflower fancier should invest in a couple of good wildflower field manual to assure proper identification. Aster curtisii grows erect, in contrast to most species which will arch or nod. It is clump forming, and may be present in large colonies in the beautiful mountainous terrain it calls home. Most of the fall blooming asters are violet in color, and Aster curtisii another beautiful example of this. The range of this aster is a bit more restricted than most as it is found mainly in the mountainous areas of the south. Enjoy it during autumn mountain hikes and drives. Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

By Max Suther Queens famous song, Who Wants To Live Forever, is certainly appropriate in todays youth-obsessed age. Billboards, magazines, television commercials and radio ads are constantly bombarding us with new ways to look and feel younger. Although we may not want to actually live forever, most of us would certainly like to look a little younger throughout lifes journey. Fortunately, anti-aging treatments are more widely available now than ever before. Traditional methods such as exercising regularly and eating healthy foods are still very beneficial to slowing the aging process. These should form a part of everyones weekly routine as healthy outward appearances begin within. Weight training helps to restore muscle tone and strengthen the bones. This may prevent osteoporosis and the chance of bone fractures later in life. Healthy food choices ensure our body receives all the necessary vitamins and minerals that are essential to our well being. However, with todays increase in sun exposure, chemical pollution and food additives, we need all the help we can get to fight the signs of aging. Therefore, you may want to consider one of the vast array of anti-aging creams, lotions, pills or drops available. Most large cosmetics companies now offer a line of products specifically targeted to reduce the visible signs of aging. For example, Hydroderm has created a product for reducing wrinkles, another for combating cellulite, and one for restoring the bodys moisture levels. All of these are meant to slow down the inevitable aging process. If you are searching for a more permanent solution, you may want to inquire into plastic surgery or medical procedures such as liposuction, face-lifts or tummy tucks. Less invasive procedures include collagen or Botox injections, chemical peels or laser skin resurfacing. More and more clinics are offering these services, but you need to make sure you go to a qualified professional. We cant stop the aging process, but we can definitely slow it down. Make sure you continue to exercise regularly, make healthy food choices and find a brand of anti-aging products that works well for you. If the saying you are only as old as you feel is true, you just may be able to become 29 again For the best anti wrinkle eye cream, try visiting http://www.hydrodermskincare.com, a popular website that offers anti aging tips, advice and resources to include information on anti aging skin care and Hydroderm anti wrinkle cream. Dandruff Shampoo

Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

By Jennifer Bailey The excessive flaking of dead skin that forms on the scalp is referred to as dandruff. Though it is normal for dead cells to die and flake off, there is unusually rapid cell turnover in some people. The dead skin cells are replaced every two weeks in some people in a normal cycle once a month. When this happens, large clumps of small, unsightly white, grayish patches known as dandruff loosen and fall off. Though there are many causes for dandruff, the most common is probably the fungus Malassezia furfur. Commonly found in areas such as the scalp, face and upper part of the body, this fungus disturbs the natural renewal of cells, thereby causing dandruff and itching. Other factors include overactive sebaceous glands, food allergies, excessive perspiration, usage of alkaline soaps, yeast infections, seasonal changes, exposure to UV light, dust, cold and dryness in the atmosphere, harsh shampoos, dyes, poor nutrition, and, above all, stress. To treat dandruff, one needs to regularly wash one’s hair with an anti-dandruff shampoo. An anti-dandruff shampoo removes the dead skin before it can build up. Most of the anti- dandruff ingredients are either acids, which break down the oils on the scalp, or fungicides, which kill the Malassezia fungus, ensuring better hair hygiene and health. There are various shampoo brands and the treatments specifically available for treating dandruff. The definitive standard of treatment is a tar shampoo that contains salicylic acid. Shampoos like Head and Shoulders, which contain Zinc Pyrithione; Selsun Blue, which contains Selenium Sulfide; Neutrogena and T-Gel, which contain coal tar; and, shampoos that contain Ketoconazole, such as Nizoral, are also effective in controlling and treating dandruff. Shampoo provides detailed information on Shampoo, Hair Loss Shampoo, Free Shampoo Samples, Dandruff Shampoo and more. Shampoo is affiliated with Hand Made Soaps.
